Dietary services
Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Northern Nevada Medical Center provides nutritious meals. If you are on a special diet prescribed by your doctor, you will receive menus tailored to your specific needs.
Patients are served breakfast between 7 and 8:30 a.m., lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and dinner between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Occasionally your meal may be delayed when you are scheduled for a special test or treatment. Whenever possible, you will be served after your examination or test.
Your breakfast tray will include a menu from which you can order your meals for the next day. Please mark your menu so it will be ready for pickup. If you have difficulty making menu selections, a member of the dietary department will be happy to help you. Call 775-356-4982 for assistance.
An alternate menu is available for your reference if the menu does not meet your needs. Please call the dietary department at 775-356-4982 to receive a copy of the alternate menu.
If a family member or friend wants to eat in your room with you, the person may go to the cafeteria, buy a meal there, and take it back to your room. Check at the nursing station for the day's cafeteria selections. If the person does not want to go to the cafeteria, a guest meal tray can be ordered. Please let your nurse know if a guest tray is desired. Charges for this service will be added to your hospital bill.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is open for breakfast from 7 - 9 a.m. weekdays. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. daily.
Vending machines
Complimentary coffee and tea are available in the cafeteria, and complimentary coffee in the second-floor waiting areas. Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located in the cafeteria. They are available 24 hours a day.
