Headaches: Finding Relief
Approximately 48 million Americans suffer from chronic headaches and 28 million Americans suffer from migraine type headaches. The Pain Management Center at Northern Nevada Medical Center is dedicated to a comprehensive approach to diagnose and manage headaches and cranial pain disorders. The Pain Management Center begins your care with a comprehensive evaluation to identify and implement strategies to reduce headache difficulties.
If your headache pain is incredibly severe and disabling, it may be a migraine. There are many different types of migraines. Some symptoms of migraines, such as neck pain and fatigue, occur even without a headache. Migraines are typically triggered by hormone fluctuations, foods, caffeine, alcohol, stress or anxiety, sun or bright light exposure, changes in sleep pattern, weather fluctuations or medication side effects.
Seeking Help for Headaches
There are several treatment options available to patients including medications to stop pain, preventive medications and lifestyle changes to avoid triggers. If these options fail, injection therapy, such as Botox, may be a possibility. Treatment from the pain management team at Northern Nevada Medical Center can be the first step to relief.
