Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center Celebrates Construction Milestone

Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center broke ground in October 2019 and has made significant progress on the area’s first hospital to be built in over a century. Today, the local leadership team and construction partner, SR Construction, celebrated a milestone in the project’s development. Partners gathered to sign and watch the final beam on the project’s architectural steel placed at the height of the building.

“Our new hospital is symbolic and represents the region’s growth and commitment to development,” said Alan Olive, CEO of Sierra Medical Center. “Today was marked in the new hospital’s history book and we eagerly anticipate opening and serving our community.”

To date, the project is comprised of 4,000 tons of steel, which makes up the framework for the new hospital. Upon completion, Sierra Medical Center will provide comprehensive services including an emergency department, advanced cardiac and neurology services, labor and delivery, oncology services and more.
