Why did I choose my career?
Nursing runs through my veins and has been passed down by generation. Nursing is also in my heart. I have always loved being a caretaker and assisting people in feeling their best and somewhat in control during the worst of times.
Why did I choose NNMC?
I am a fourth-generation Nevadan and grew up in Sparks. I wanted to make sure I chose a hospital that served my community. I have been at NNMC for five years and it has greatly exceeded my expectations. They have invested in me, not only as a nurse, but as an individual and I feel greatly fulfilled and loyal to NNMC.
What do I like most about my job?
I love that I never feel stagnant as an RN, everyday I learn something new and I am able to raise the bar and go above and beyond the standard. This in turn allows me to give exceptional patient care and makes me feel greatly satisfied with my career path.
What do I like most about the hospital?
I love that NNMC serves our community. NNMC offers ever-evolving services, raises above the standard to earn certifications and offers the highest level of care within their specialties. NNMC encompasses an amazing team and every day I feel very lucky to work with such a great group of people.
Why would others like to work here?
NNMC invests in their employees and knows they are what make this hospital great. Our administration is visible and always welcomes input and change that would improve our patient and staff experience. Our managers and house supervisors share their expertise and support us so that we can work to our full potential. As an employee of NNMC, you will feel valued by not only the hospital but our community.

Why did I choose my career?
I started in the medical field as a CNA and wanted to continue my education and advancement, which included taking the steps of becoming a phlebotomist.
Why did I choose NNMC?
I have stayed here as a patient a few times before. I loved the atmosphere of being a patient here, the friendly people. It made me want to work here because I got to see how they took care of me and I wanted to be part of the team. It was a great experience all around.
What do I like most about my job?
I love to interact with patients and families! I love my co-workers as well as teamwork. I love how busy it keeps me. There is always something to do and that makes the day go by so fast! I love the patients most of all.
What do I like most about the hospital?
The benefits here are great. The vacation time is wonderful. It allows you to enjoy working hard, while still being able to take time away when needed. I love the people I work with, as well as the overall atmosphere.
Why would others like to work here?
The upper management is amazing. They are very accommodating, very supportive and respectful! They reward their employees for their hard work and dedication. They make it fun and rewarding to be here. They treat you like equals.

Why did I choose my career?
The human interaction: I find the journey each person has walked through in life intriguing. I try to learn from each person that I encounter. Also, the patient outcomes and improvements are observable, which makes the job rewarding.
Why did I choose NNMC?
I chose to work here because of the small town feel. It’s like the show Cheers, “where everybody knows your name!”
What do I like most about my job?
I like the human interaction. Getting to see improvements in patient outcomes is very rewarding and helps me sleep at night.
What do I like most about the hospital?
The opportunity for professional and developmental growth. There is freedom to pursue projects and ideas that may better the community.

Support from staff, the open communication with co-workers at all levels and the team environment.

Why did I choose my career?
My mom worked as a Medical Technologist for 30+ years. I remember going to work with her during "take your daughter to work day" and being enthralled with the lab.
What do I like most about my job?
I really enjoy the laboratory science. Using the advancing modern technology to help investigate and diagnose patient conditions is exciting and rewarding. I’m also very passionate about the patient experience.
What do I like most about the hospital?
We are lucky to have a smaller workforce that enables us to really get to know each other on a personal level throughout the hospital. We know each other by name and work well together to ensure that our patients have the best experience.

I believe the culture at NNMC sets us apart from other organizations in the community.
