Nutritional Healing Arts Department Services
Wholesome, nourishing and well-balanced meals are an important part of your treatment and recovery. Northern Nevada Medical Center provides nutritious meals. If you are on a special diet prescribed by your doctor, you will receive menus tailored to your specific needs.
Patients are served breakfast between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and dinner between 5 and 6:30 p.m., based on what unit you are on. Occasionally your meal may be delayed when you are scheduled for a special test or treatment. Whenever possible, you will be served after your examination or test.
Your breakfast tray will include a menu from which you can order your meals for the next day. Please mark your menu so it will be ready for pickup. If you have difficulty making menu selections, a member of the dietary department will be happy to help you. Call 775-356-4091 for assistance.
If a family member or friend wants to eat in your room with you, the person may go to the cafeteria, buy a meal there, and take it back to your room. Check at the nursing station for the day's cafe selections.
The cafe is open for breakfast from 7 - 10 a.m. weekdays. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. daily.
Complimentary coffee is available in the cafe. Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located in the cafe and the emergency department entrance. They are available 24 hours a day.
